Default What was original suspension on a 70S?

About to upgrade my suspension, which has been frozen in an upward position after extensive storage on blocks.
Looking for info on what was the original suspension on a US 70S? I currently have red Koni's.
Would like to keep it as period correct/original setup as possible.
Thanks for input!

Could you share some pictures with the car off the blocks?

I've currently got Konis yes. Attaching photo. So Konis would be stock correct then? Thanks!

See if Koni will revalve them - Bilstein does

you want digressive valving done + any rebuilding needed

Your susp. bushings will all need replacement - Elephant has what you want

Don't forget to replace all rubber fuel hoses (incl. the ones next to the gas tank) - use pressure & ethanol-mix rated hose

replace all 4 rubber brake hoses

replace tires if 6 years old no matter how much tread is there

flush all fluids & then see if you can manually turn the motor over with plugs out

Have Fun!

Thanks for tips, r911!
Just dropped Pro Parts West an email as they're an authorised Koni shop and can revalve them.
Fingers crossed the original ones can be rebuilt, that'd be the best option for sure.
cheers

If the dates on them match the car then definately rebuild them.
If you repaint them, you can get the vintage style decals for them from a member on early911sregistry.com

I'm not so sure that Koni's were original equipment but were a period correct mod that was popular at the time.

the Kardex and COA would show the options. Order both of them.

I assumed all S models got the Konis. They also allowed the correct bolt spacing for the S calipers.

If the konis are original to that car, they might very well have the date codes on them.

From my COA. Any clues? I also was under the impression S models had Konis as standard, but not sure..

"Comfort" doesn't sound good - find out exactly what it meant for your year and... US delivery?? or wherever the car went to when new.

I would check on the Early S Registry about the comfort package on an S. I am no longhood expert but I have only seen the comfort package on E and T cars. The package varied by year, but generally it came with S trim, S gauges, S steering wheel (leather wrapped) and some years it also came with 14" instead of 15" Fuchs and those funky Boge self leveling struts or whatever they are called.

Koni's could never be considered part of a comfort package but was a popular enthusiast upgrade from the softer riding Boge.
