Post MSD 6AL No. 6420 Install

Bought MSD and installed it today but need to hook it up. Any one out there that has installed one on an SC? What do you do with the existing white and black coil wires remove them or leave them on the coil terminals and just connect the MSD orange to positive and MSD blk to coil negative?
What tach adapter to use the 8910 or 8920? Read porsche 101 book and MSD's instructions but both don't answer these issues. Any help is appreciated.

Antares,

It's been a while since I installed the MSD box, but my '78 3.0 did not need the tach adapter. The wire to the tach is a purple wire w/black stripe if I recall, you'll see it when you remove the insulation from the 5 prong connector from the original CD unit. As far as the oginal coil wires you no longer use them, cap them off, use only the wires from the MSD unit. You will use the brown and green wires (if I recall) from the distributor to trigger the MSD box.

Good luck !
