Default Help With Old Invoice

When I acquired my 83SC I tracked down the old owner and got the binder of receipts from previous owners. Lots of good things in there going back to 1991 - not to bad.

There is one large invoice for engine work done in 2000. Some of it's in French as this car was from Quebec. I'm a bit of a newbie so I'm wondering would this work be considered an engine rebuilt? Just top end?

Got to love the $40 / hour labour

Looks like a full rebuild as they had the rods out for machining - IIRC it is possible to do this w/o splitting the case halves. If someone better at French than me doesn't post I'll try to look demain.

The owner's home (maison) and work (travail) phone numbers are up top.

Also, the receipt is dated on Bastille Day (the French version of July 4th), so maybe the price was so good due to that.

$4k Canadian for a pretty complete looking engine rebuild is not bad at all.

It's Carlosport in Montreal. Searching around rennlist it seems they are not in business but were a good shop. I have $18,000 of invoices from there alone. This was the biggest so wanted to see what everyone thought was actually done to the engine. Really appreciate all the feedback.

Sucks the invoice doesn't have the millage. The next paper that has millage is 6 years later at 117,000 miles. So I'm assuming this engine work was done around 100,000 miles. I'm at 139,000 now. Just a guess.

Yeah, Carlos closed his shop. Your car was in good hands back then.
