Simple, if you are talking about the factory type ball stud fasteners with the little **** on the boot, or the other, which is just a snap fastener. Either is simple.

I ordered them from www.worlduph.com/primo.htm I have no association with them. $6.50 apiece, the little tenex devils with the pull **** to snap your boot in place.
I still don't know how to change out my broken fasteners, but when the new parts arrive I shall see.

Craig is correct, they are multi pieced. The backing plate screws on the underside of the hole in the boot and the top snap inserts thru the hole then it is tightened. The little points bite into the fabric so they don't move after you tighten them. When you see them, you will be able to see how they work. The backing plate has holes for a tightening tool, I used snap ring pliers to tighten, fit perfectly. Good luck.
