Question Advice on 89 911 purchase

I have a 993 and 356 and looking at a 89 Anniversary 911 Coupe in silver. Is there anything unique to this model or year I should look out for? I know to check for rust. It has 55k miles so I’m hoping for a problem free inspection.

I'd check for evidence of a battery leak due to overcharging. I's also have reputable Porsche mechanic do a PPI on the car, including removing the lower valve covers and checking for broken head studs.

Check to see if top end has been redone. valve guide wear is something to consider in an 89.

Honestly the weakest points in these assumes it’s been maintained is the rubber center clutch disk and valve guide wear. These are stout cars. The cable guide wear will cause accelerated oil consumption.
If it’s a west coast car with low miles I’d assume a fairly uneventful inspection and probably a lot of small bits to address.
