I like the turbo twists and cup 2's on any 911. then again I also like the teledials, although they looked better on my 928. However, my favourite are Fuch's, colour coded to the car like mine.

Doug, I think your car looks great! Beautiful color and that set of wheels looks like they were meant to be on it. I really don't understand these guys telling you that you should put Fuchs on YOUR car after you've made the decision to go with twists. Don't listen to them. You made a great choice.

I don't believe anyone was telling Doug what to put on his car.... And I don't believe anyone has said anything negative. We were/are offering "OUR" opinion on what "WE" like. Geezzz, why do you think there are so many different options on everything, because we all have different tastes and likes. Some guys like women with legs, others like, well you get the picture....

By the way, Doug once again, your car is beautiful.....

Steady guys.....I appreciate all the coments & compliments, it's all interesting to read.

Weard us 911 owners though, we're kinda like women.......that is we
do need to hear people say our cars are beautiful now & then......even though we know it anyway!!

If you know what I mean (no offence to any ladies out there...you're all beautiful!)

Jim,
My point wasn't to slam anyone at all, so sorry if it was taken that way. I didn't see that Doug asked for any opinions - I just thought he was showing how good his car looked. Oh, and I am a big fan of Fuchs, but I think the twists look outstanding on Doug's car.

Dudsud,
Your car is a beauty. You mentioned lowering the car. Dropping the front end 1" would add to the profile, IMHO. I have an 85 turbo-look that had been lowered (25" front, 24 1/2 in the rear), and I love the look! I also have a 94 cab that looks like a baja preped off roader. It will come down shortly.
Again, your car is a class act.

My view from the colonies.

Thanks Larry
Perhaps you could post a photo of your turbo look.
Do you know what's involved in lowering the front? Is it a job that needs to be done by a specialist or is it a DIY possible?

Doug,
There are articles on the Pelican board about lowering your year of car. Can be a DIY project. Also Waynes book "101 projects..." describes the procedure.
I believe my 94 will require lowering springs.

Keep the faith.

Question

Doug, Wheels look great. What is the officail Porsche name for the color of your car? I have an 85TL that is the same color and have had several people tell me that it is not a factory color.

Thanks

Larry,
Thanks a lot, I'll have a look on the Pelican site & I must invest in "101 projects" everyone seems to mention that book!

Mike,
The colour as far as I am aware is called "Wien Rot". The Porsche colour code is X7X7 XF.

Hey Tim, Glad the car worked out. It really was one of the nicest I'd seen. Island thought the same thing. Hope the paperwork gets straightened out.

Hey Doug. Nice car. Where abouts in Yorkshire are you (I'm in Haworth ), and where did you get the best deal on your wheels? I'm also thinking of changing mine to something more modern and keeping the Fuchs for the track.
