Default Frozen Sunroof Cable

Just found the cause of a non moving sunroof in my 73 911. After removing the sunroof panel, all the aluminum rails and dropping the gear drive, I tried pulling on the passenger side sunroof cable and it slides in and out of the routing tube just fine. But then I tried pulling on the driver side cable and it's frozen tight. Was thinking of shooting some PB Blaster down the tube entrance that the cable inserts into, but the diameter of the cable is just a tad smaller than the diameter of the tube opening. So unfortunately can't get the PB blaster far down the tube. But sprayed the tube opening as best I could. I was thinking of maybe using a heat gun to heat up the cable with a heat gun. Perhaps the heat would conduct along the length of the cable, thus expanding the diameter of the cable just enough to break it free? That's assuming it's rusted somewhere to the inner wall of the tube it's routed through. Any other ideas on how to tackle this one?
