I'd like to hear anyones' expereince / suggestions re: the cloth covered verticle pieces of weather strip located at the back edge of the door windows. Mine are worn looking *but dont leak!* and if I could I'd like to repair / replace them at a reasonable cost but I kinda fear
creating a water problem. Has anyone expereince dying them to get the white/gray threads to look black again? - I heard this could be an option.
TIA for any comments- <img src="graemlins/xyxwave.gif" border="0" alt="[bigbye]" />

You can get the original fabric from an upolstery shop, remove the old fabric, and glue on the new fabric over the rubber. When I had my convertible top redone, that's what they did for me.

When I had my new top put on last year I took some black shoe polish that was recommended by PCA guys into concours. It worked great but it didn't stay perfecty black. It lasted less than a year but I too am not ready to put down the coin that they ask for on the trim pieces (I actually want to do all of them around the windows $$!!) Try it and if you need to you can always buy new ones later.
