I think everyone would agree to buy the best one you can afford. If you are mecanically inclined and want to have a winter project then rust free would be my main concern.

Porschefig:Get a well maintained 911 (I'd shoot for an SC or Carrera), that may need paint work/interior work. It is hard to find these, as those who don't take care of the paint also don't maintain it properly. But on the other hand, I found one with good records that needed some paint and had avg interior - needed a tranny rebuild.

Steve:thanks for the advice today! - That Ruf spoiler is a tad over budget for me at this point, perhaps next season!
