Hello,

is there a way to replace only the rear window on a convertible 991.1 2014 4S. ?
my dealer suggest I should replace the whole roof.
is their a part # just for the rear window ?

I expect there is. You'll get better answers in the 991 forum.

On my '85, the rear portion of the roof, including the soft rear window and a few inches of canvas trim around it, all un-zips to separate from the front portion of the roof. Then the back end of that segment can be separated from the body. I did all that on mine, and shipped it off to a specialist, who sewed in a brand new vinyl window into the existing canvas (so there was no mis-match etc. with the rest of the roof). Very happy with the result.

I took a similar approach with my '88 Cab. The blue canvas top was in great shape but the window was not. So I took it to Finish Line in Santa Clara and they cut a slightly larger hole in the back and sewed in a new clear window. Looks great and I still have the original blue top.

No idea if this would work for a 991 but this info may be of interest to other owners of air-cooled cabs.

Some more info on my experience ... It was done by Autos International, cost me $185, and they did not change the canvas at all. After I removed that rear section and mailed it to them, they removed the vinyl window and sewed in a new one in the same hole. That was in 2004, and it still looks great, possibly because it has seen the light of day only a few times - I keep the roof down pretty much all the time.
