Default Are Brake lenses replaceable?

Forgive the newbie question:

Sometimes I see ads for tinted brake light covers. And sometimes, I see brake light covers that appear “whited” out. Hopefully you know what I’m referring to. I’ll try to link a picture. My question is, are these changes reversible? Are these alterations of the original lenses or just replacement parts? How expensive is it to return to the originals.

May have to ask on forum of car you are referring too

On our early cars, yes. The lenses are separate from the housing. On the new cars, no. If you want clear, you have to replace the entire assembly. Clear kits are about $600. Check out this page at Suncoast Porsche: https://www.suncoastparts.com/catego..._By=disp_order

There are probably cheaper aftermarket options. As Ice suggested, the 991 forum is the place to ask.
