Post auto vs. manual heat control

I have a 79 911sc and am interested in converting my automatic heat control, which has never worked properly and hunts all the time, to a manual heat control system with the standard two levers. Has anyone ever performed this conversion??

Nothing to it. Buy a "new" to you, dual heat 2 lever e-brake assembly. Buy 2 new Heater Box wires ( manual length ones ). And the rubber boot.

Have at it. Be patient. Working with both the brake cable and heater wires pretty tedious.

Oh, yeah. Take out the passenger seat. It will be a time saver.

Don't remember all the wireing issues, but pretend they all could be hot. So heat shrink the ends, so they could be used later. Or, if you plan on never to use them. Cut them back so far that they won't send you on a wild goose chase at a later date. And heat shrink the ends.

I haven't found a plug for the cone between the visors yet. So mine is still there.

Good Luck
