My First 911......wow!
Hi everyone on Renlist, I'm new to the forum & just bought my first 911.
It's an 83 SC with around 100K, mostly in Germany then UK since 99.
This was taken in the Lake District, England on our first real weekend run in the 911 since picking it up a few weeks ago.
I really love the way she drives...awesome, a real change to my daily driver with power everything & no soul!
The only thing I don't like are the wheels & I'm toying with the idea of fitting some 17" cup or perhaps some 16" fuchs alloys.
Any comments would be helpfull!
Thanks
Doug

Congrats :-)
She looks lovely.
So far as wheels are concerned, you'll find a lot of Fuchs fans here:
I'm sure someone will be along in a minute with a better pic.

Doug,
Congratulations on the new car. The longer you drive it the more you will fall in love with it. Don't try and do everything other people suggest-the car is yours. Wait awhile before doing anything except for maintenance and evaluation.
16" Fuchs in 7s and 8s" would, IMO, be a good starting point!

Three Wheelin'
Doug,
sweet ride! Great place to drive too- my wife and I were in the Lakes back in May for a few days in a borrowed 328i. Plenty of twisty roads, I just couldn't get used to driving on the other side! I agree that cup wheels would look great- but I also agree it's your choice!
Cheers,
Paul.

I love Cups on a more modern Porsche - had them on my 968, and they suited the car really well - but to me they look out of place on an older 911.
But as others have said, all that matters is that you like whatever you choose.

Thanks for all your comments & help guys.
It's really great to find a forum where you can get so much help & feedback so quickly!!
I'll probably wait a few months until the spring before making the final decision about wheels.
I think the wheels that are fitted (called teledials in UK) are probably the worst looking wheels Porsche ever fitted.
Finding the right 911 was way more important though & the wheels were a minor negative point when I found this car.
Thanks again
