yes. will it be correct and perfect, and win you awards at concourses? i dont know if its the exact same thing as the 82, but it will fit fine on an 82. ive seen guys take 92 964 deck lids with the rear spoiler that moves up when you get to certian speeds put on 60's 911/912s, so im sure the marage of a 73 on an 82 would be a problem, or look any differnt.

just wondering.. are you putting a duck tail on or regular 73 deck lid? (ive seen people put duck tails w/lid on 911SC's too.. so it will work)

sorry about the mindless ramble, no sleep last night.....

i have a duck tail on the car now. Im going to put a Carrera RS tail on the car, but i need a lid. I have the chance to pick one up for no charge, but was wondering if it will work.

I guess i should add, will the carrera tail fit properly on the lid???

The decklid was the same size for all 911's up to and including the 964.

Ressestewww, you say you have a ducktail now, but are considering switching to a Carrera RS tail? The Carrera RS had a ducktail.

If you mean a Carrera (1984-89) tail, then it generally makes more sense to buy the tail and lid as one piece -- but it will work putting them together, nonetheless.

The biggest difference between a '73 and an '82 is the lights incorporated in the trailing edge of the '72. I posted some pics of a comparison of a '72 and '80 lid on Pelican quite a while ago. Don't have the energy to look for them though.

I believe that the Rennspeed part bolts to a separate existing lid. A Duck would be integral w/ a lid and need to incorporate the lights in the trailing edge like the original tail.

A nice find would be an early aluminum lid that you could mount a nice light Carrera/Carrrera RS spoiler on.
