Another one bites the dust.....
It is sad to say this is my first post, but here it goes,
While in SF with my girlfriend watching a play I get pictures and a call from my neighbor stating someone just hit my car. I immediately left and rushed over to my residence in Oakland just as they're flipping a vehicle back over. From what I can gather from the officer (police report will take a couple of days i'm told) a driver either intoxicated or texting (details are still unclear) decided to hit my car and flip hers. My neighbor said it sounded like they dropped a car from the sky, he came out smashed in her window and pulled her out. She luckily walked away and did not have to be sent to the hospital. My 89 slate gray coupe did not fair as great. Damage to the vehicle is on the left quarter panel and rear wheel. The car seems to be bottomed out on the back as well.
Needless to say I am devastated. I usually park the car in a private one car garage that I have about 10 minutes from my residence. I pulled the car out yesterday to enjoy for the day, but decided against driving it into the city to avoid crazy drivers on a friday night.
I bought the car in January of this year, and have been waiting more than 10 years to finally own my very first 911. I posted a picture a couple months ago on the "post your 911 " thread in this forum if anyone would like to see what i just lost. At this point I am hoping the car is a total loss, as the car is worthless now to me, and probably every one else. I have american collectors insurance with an agreed value of $46k. I am hoping they stay true to this. Thanks for listening everyone, hoping this will not be my last post. Pictures are below if anyone feels like throwing up this morning lol

Ugh worst. Glad you weren’t in the car. Cars can be replaced

Sorry to hear about that, of course. Please keep us posted on how American Collectors handles the claim. I'm insured with them as well.

^^^ This! now I know why American Modern (Leland) wants to know if my cars are stored inside........ A real tragedy for one's first Porsche after waiting sooo long. Glad to hear you were not involved in getting hit, only the car. Hopefully repairs are all that is needed and the locals (West Rennlist) and those on this forum can recommend a good body shop!

They'll be sending an adjuster to look over the car either tomorrow or the day after. He'll give a preliminary estimate and if it's 75% under the 46K agreed value they will fix it. If that is the case, I will most likely take it to Barsotti's (Porsche certified and hight recommended by the forum) in san rafael to look at it and give an even more detailed repair cost as repairs begin. Insurance says any time the estimate from the they're people or the body shop is over 75% of the value then they will cash out.
As far as a diminished value claim, American Collectors states that is something I will have to fight with her insurance over.
