Question CD2 Radio Repair

Hi All,
Hope you all had a great holiday.
Can anyone direct me to a reasonable and reliable repair shop that can work on the CD2 Porsche stereo that came in my '89 Cab? The radio works but the CD does not. When I got it out, I found it was made in Japan!?! I thought these cars came with Blaupunkt, Alpine, or Becker units. The sound quality has too much treble so I may replace it with a different unit but keep this one (in completely functional condition) for originality. The car has six speakers, two (one five inch, one 2 inch)in each door and one (3") in the rear. I don't want to cut the car at all, can anyone recommend speakers and a stereo that would work well in this car without cutting?
Thanks.

MM:

The CD2 unit in your car, if I have my facts straight, was manufactured by Alpine, who is a Japanesse company.

I am have no idea where you are located (as you have no location listed with your screen name). I have had good sucess with United Radio in Syracuse, NY 800-448-0944 . Call them for details. If they cannot fix the unit their is usually NO charge. They are fast and reasonable.

The have repaired a CR-1 head unit (also Alpine manufactured for Porsche). My CDC-1 will be sent out to United shorty for servicing.

No affiliation, just a satisfied customer.

You could also try Rod Birch in CA (he is a rennlist advertiser) or SW Stereo Specialists in NC (Pano advertiser).

One other option is your dealer....most units can be swapped out for new or reconditioned units (with warrantee) from Porsche.

Thanks Marc. I'll give them a call.

I found a couple others;

radiorepairporsche.com
swstereo.com.

I'm going to get the oriinal repaired, any suggestions on better speakers for the car to use with this tuner?
