In search of tire recommendations for 15” Fuchs
What are you guys running for tires on 15”? Trying to find a decent set has become a challenge. I have a 1987 cab with 15” Fuchs option 401. What do you guys recommend. Thanks!

I want the car to be as factory correct as possible, they are factory sizes I believe 7 and 8” not exactly sure. The car has option code 401 for 15” and option code 348 painted centers to match. Trying to put period correct tread pattern if possible. Thinking Pirelli p6000

Tire sizes for that option were either 185/70 or 195/65 front & 215/60 rear

I've run 15" Fuchs on my '87 for over 20 years. The P6000 is the only N rated tire available and they've been on my car for a little over 20,000 miles. Had some problems getting them balanced to an acceptable level, but once done, they handle well and are not noisy. I'll continue to use them. My '87 has over 295,000 miles on it and is a driver.

Yes, I also have the P6000. They have been good tires but I don't anticipate getting anywhere near 20k out of them.....but with my use I've never managed to get any better than 12k out of any tire....on any 911. Getting matching front and rears....in the proper sizes that don't screw around with your speedo, in the appropriate 15" aspects, widths and high performance rating, is almost impossible. The P6000's are about the only choice. I used to run 225's in back and 205's in front but alas, the Pirellis only come in 195 and 215's. Good luck,

I also run the P6000 with N rating in 195/65 and 215/60 - 15, and also have balancing issues. My trusted tire guy tells me it is typical with Pirellis, moreso as they wear. Oh well... I don't use the car at highway speeds often.

I actually haven't had balancing issues with my P6000's. My tires have about 5000 miles on them and more often than not, are regularly at or above hiway speeds. The only complaint so far, was the price....twice what I paid for the previous set. Cheers
