Default Best ignition solution... ?

We are thinking about upgrading the original point ignition system. What are the advantages of going to an MSD Ignition system over the "Pertonix Ignitor" ?

Thanks!

Hi Jason:

Good idea,...

The Pertronix simply eliminates the variances in timing caused by rubbing block wear and distributor shaft wear. Its a great upgrade and we do this to all '77 and earlier 911's.

The stock Bosch CD box or an MSD-6 are both fine ignitions. MSD's permit wide plug gaps that give more power, better idle and drivability.

If you use the MSD, be sure to use an MSD coil as they are impedance matched to each other. I use the High-Vibration Blaster coils or the HVC series ones.
