Ceramic brakes on a 2018 911
I heard ceramic brakes need to be warmed up. Does that mean from a cold start you are getting less stopping power..maybe 60%...where as if you had steel brakes you'd get closer to 100%..I'm guessing even steel brakes need to "warm up"..

1. ceramic does not need any MORE warmup than iron
2. you want to post your question in the 991 board for a 2018 model year car

I was waiting to post on this just to figure out if it was me or if others have noticed this, thank you psychoideas. many wayward posts lately, so, brings me to my question/scenario: when I log on to RL I see "Forums', I click, I get a drop down with twelve choices (none of which are 911), number 4 on the list is Air/Oil Cooled that gives me 6 choices (yes, one of those is 911), number 5 on main drop down is Water Cooled with 16 choices (none of which are 911). So, how does a 996, 997, 991 Porsche owner post in the Air/Oil Cooled Forum? Perhaps they believe they are 911 owners and after all their searching of the drop downs the only 911 they find is in the Air/ Oil Cooled section?

I think we are doing all we can do when we politely or tongue in cheek suggest they are in the wrong forum.

I first posted in this forum long, long ago, in a galaxy far, far away, after buying a brand-new (water-cooled) 2007 Porsche 997.1, my first Porsche. I was very politely told there were dedicated forums for those cars which I might find more appropriate, versus this forum for the earlier air-cooled 911s. Newbie first-time Porsche owners who have purchased a 996, 997, or 991 think they bought a Porsche 911, because they were told they bought a Porsche 911; those later numeric designations don't even appear on the owner's documents. These folks find their way to Rennlist, and they see the header to this forum is "911 Forum", not "Air-cooled REAL 911 so all you newbies go away Forum". I went on to become an enthusiast and acquire a stable of REAL 911s. But that original water-cooled "911" is still my DD, a decade later. So, let's be nice to the newbs.

iceman, raspritz, agree with your posts, let's be nice to the newbs maybe occasionally have some polite good old-fashioned fun. although we might be tougher on a Content Editor (berry-colored GTS) posting in the wrong Forum

I actually don't mind guys posting in the wrong forum , I figure they have to learn and I just help move them along .. not to got too OT but what REALLY irritates me is the 944 guys using our forums as ebay and any time they think they can flog something up they pop to try and sell it with no desire to contribute to the community outside of making money.
end rant .. carry on ..
