i need to replace the original stereo/cassette player in my '89 911 c4. i took it to a place to install a new cd player/stereo and they could not do a straight forward install. the speakers would not work. they said it would have to have all new speaker wire run to all the speakers. is this true or just b.s. from someone who doesn't know what the hell they are doing? there must be a way to just replace the stereo and use the current speakers without rewiring. please help!

Try Crutchfield, they sell the stereo with a harness that will allow you to use your existing wiring without any cutting!! Replacing the stereo is a breeze if they make the wiring adapter to fit your car. They also include full instructions.
