CIS + California + Stabil...
OK, so I'm wondering after having heeded the advice from long ago that adding Stabil on fill-ups for our CIS-equipped 911s was prudent for the health and longevity of the CIS system. Questions for the knowledgeable with history on the guts of our engines:
1. Is it still a must do even today? ...that is, speaking as a resident from the people's republic of California and our gas standards?
2. If yes, the Stabil to be used is the not the gas "preservative" one but the "other" Stabil formula that helps against Ethanol, right?
3. Again, if yes, what are the effects/detriments against our engine by going without Stabil?
Thanks guys!!

I add Marine STA-BIL every time I fill up Summer/Winter storage or no storage.

Moved to Texas this summer, but the four years prior to that my SC was a daily driver from Redondo Beach to downtown LA. I almost exclusively used Chevron, but never had any fuel system issues.

CIS doesn't tolerate water at all. I've used BG's cleaning system on a 5.6 liter CIS controlled MB engine with great results. Chevron is the fuel with Techron. Works.
