the plastic outgasses plasticizers - not good for paint - the air flow prevents or reduces that issue

Not actually! It's a vacation home that lays dormant often and is in a very humid beach climate. The dormancy invites rodents and climate corrosion.

Also tell us about the filling procedures it has to be on the compressor all the time?

lol! It's a small fan at the front, that constantly is running, maintaining temp and circulating the air. I feel the noise of the fan too (even as mild as it is), will keep rodents away as well.

In 2011 I rebuilt my house and placed my cars in storage at my mother-in-laws house. It was very damp and had rodents but I had few options. I used these and they worked perfectly. They kept the cars dry and rodent free. They are a PITA to use but very heavy duty and I would say that it is a better option than just leaving them in storage with a cover. It was hard to pull the plastic up over the car without scratching the paint so I used a car cover as well to help protect it. The car came out 8 months later looking as it did when I put it into the cocoon.

As far as water when you place the car into the bubble and inflate it the sides pull the zippered area up about 6 inches or so. If you have more than 6 inches of standing water it might get in but I can't be sure. Otherwise you should be fine.

PITA to use? Not sure what that means, but you are correct on what you are saying. As far as scratching, biggest concern are the zippers at bottom, so best to use two people to roll cover back or very carefully on own. I've done both ways with no issues.
