Default 2007 911 GPS problems

I have recently purchased a 2007 911 and it has factory GPS. For some reason the system is not reading the GPS disk. The unit acts like it staring, but then after about 5 minutes it tells me to insert the GPS disk or it says it cannot read the disk. I have tried removing and reinserting the disk with no luck. Does anyone know is this a common problem. The car is in extremely good condition and only has 10,200 miles on it. Thank you

Try your question on the 997 (water cooled) forum.
i happen to know that sometimes this happens. It's usually the disc being defective. Can you get another to double check? Otherwise, pull the fuse for the PCM and try again.
