Default starter replacement

Hey guys ! I would like to know if it is complusory to drop engine to replace the starter on a Porsche 912 1967 ? Thanks so much

No. You have to kind of bear hug the transmission though

Hi Antonie..basically jack up the car and use jack stands so you are safe.
Or if you can use a lift.For starter work, disconnect the battery.Then for he upper allen nut 10mm use the tool from your tool kit ,if you have one.Reach around the trany with your right hand.Only after you remove the bottom allen but or sometimes just 15mm wrench nut,it dependent what people used on there.

should be an Allen cap screw (aka, "bolt"), yes

a small mirror with LED can help
