Default Porsche Classic 10W 60

Just had my final valve adjustment after the rebuild and got a fresh fill of Porsche's new classic oil. Displacements of 3.0 and above get the 10W 60, and anything under gets the 20W 50.

Has anyone else tried it? Or any thoughts on the product?

Jase.

My car did run for the last 15years on 10W60.
I did buy the car 4 years ago and did a full rebuild of the engine and must say with 220000 km there was no wear other then the normal wear.
The rebuild was not necessary but i always like to have my car 100% as i keep my cars for at least 20years.

No, I have not tried it because it is a bit pricy for my budget...YMMV.

Libio-Moly sells a 10w60 for less than the Porsche Classic brand. May be the same oil, but I am just speculating.

911SC - engine just re-built, shop uses Porsche 20W-50, even thought it's a 3.0, as they don't want to put any synthetic in the engine.

I've been using it since it came out as well! I drive my car a lot and find that not having to change the oil but every 10k miles actually saves me money. Besides, I drink the koolaid in heavy doses and if Porsche formulated it for my 3.2, it's probably pretty good stuff. It isn't that much more than many other boutique oil brands mentioned in the forums anyway.

Valvoline VR-1 20/50. Find it anywhere.

I'm not convinced Porsche got a refinery to make oil just for them In such a minuscule amount.
I'd be more likely to believe it's a common boutique oil in porsche container
I don't like koolaid 😉

I may switch to Delo 400 from Brad Penn... due to hard to get the Brad Penn

Surely Porsche does not crack its own crude, but whoever does make it may well be making something to a spec. from Porsche.

Just like Chinese products - they will make you a nice iPhone or crummy drywall.

+1. That's why I think it might be Lubio Moly; Lubio is a German motor oil.

I tend to agree, I've had a difficult time finding an analysis of their oil, so being lazy I've been sticking with Brad Penn

Well, I hope it's good stuff. I was ripping through the gears like I stole it today. Man, what a difference after the rebuild. The car actually shoves and progressively pushes me into the seat now. It's a pity the redline isn't higher!

I started with Brad Penn after my rebuild and then switched to the Porsche oil as I found it easier to source up here in the cold white north! Also, the price delta here was not that big (I think it is more significant in the US).

i would use the VR-1 if I could find it locally.
