I agree with Ice. Try Techron to get the varnish out of the injectors and then drive it like a thief.

Over due update. The car is now running perfectly, at least for the moment...The dealer got a new exhaust gas analyzer and tested the CO emission, which was high (1.8%). They adjusted the air flow meter and calibrated the CO emissions to 0.8%... $90 and the car now runs as it should. No fuel filter or injectors or fuel pump issues.

Just happened across your post. I also just bought an 80's 911, though mine isn't as pristine as yours seems to be. Hope you see you at Cars and Coffee or the Taj Garaj drive.
