Post 1982 911SC Seats

Wow! I'm glad I discovered this message board. This is my first post. I bought a 82 911SC Coupe from a friend about four months ago. I have been searching around the internet for the past four months for an original tan leather front seat (top & bottom) or someone who can do a leather recovering of an existing seat. Any help is greatly appreciated. I tried Pelican Parts, but they only have black leather. Thanks! - Bill

Hi Bill and Welcome: If you do a search on this BB there was just some discussion on this topic for a DIY job. You will probably have to do both seats to get a match.
Cheers

Hello Bill,I just recovered the 2 front seats in my 1983-911SC and did the job myself.I found a guy on E-Bay that makes and sells seat upholstery covers for Porsches, but they are not leather, they are vinyl with a special vinyl insert that feels like leather.Any way I recovered both front seats in about 10 hours and less than $300.00!!I love the way the seats look and everybody that has seen them also says they look great. If you type on E-Bay "Porsche seats" in the search just look for the covers, the guys name is Torsten Nicht and his business is Inland Imports, seems like a very nice guy, hope this helps.

eBay is good, but also post a "parts wanted" ad in the classified section of Rennlist. I just found a good set of cork sport seats for my '79 this way. I probably got 6 responses in the first 2 days...

BTW, I now have my original less-than-perfect set of cork (saddle) sport seats for sale...cheap!

Bill,

I'm in Lawrenceville too - got an 83 Targa. I tried to email you, but got a reject message.

Thanks for those who have taken the time to reply to my original post. I have just made my email public if anyone is having problems emailing me.
