What is the thin line down the middle of the windscreen? It seems to encompass the driverside of the screen. ( I am typing from memory here, can't see the car as she's covered up for the night) It looks like heater element, but i guess it could be the arial? My screen has a chip in it and I want to make sure the replacement screen has this thingy in it. But I can't really phone the glass company up and order a screen with a thingy in it can I! LOL

It is the aerial /antenna for the radio.

Yes, you can order the glass with the aerial, but it will be expensive.

Thanks for setting me straight. I thought it must be.

Perhaps I will try to get the chip repaired first?

I had a new tinted, shaded, windshield installed, $140.00. It was the one without the antenna, the one with the antenna was a little more, but not all that much. Just specify to the glass co. what year 911 (85 was first year with antenna in glass) and what color glass, clear, tinted, shaded(graduated tint)
