Changing Transmissions -- CV joints and axle half-shaft lengths
I am trying to mount a 901 tranny into a 1973 coupe body (which has
the later Al trailing arms on it).
I found that the flanges on the 901 are wider (stick out more from the
tranny case) than the ones do on the 915 trans. How do I fit the 901
into the later car? Can I just swap the inner CV joints (next to the
trans) to use the early kind?
Do I find early axle half-shafts that might be shorter lengths than
the ones on the car? Will any year CV joints fit on any half-shafts?
Thanks!
BTW: I am well aware of the strenth issues on the tranny.
