HELP!! Oil cooler line crack repair
I have an 82 SC that has developed a small hole in the oil cooler line just under the passenger door. it leaks very slowly (one drop/day)only when engine is running. Can this be repaired while on the car with some kind of jb weld or like item?

certainly not JB weld . But I am sure there are products you could apply and put a clamp over it that would seal it. taking them off is certainly a nightmare but if you could drop it complete with the thermostat and just remove the oil lines at the tank and the connection to the hard line at the back , and just take it down complete with the cooler at the front maybe you could have it welded without having to mess with that stat lines.
Are you sure its the oil line and not possibly the AC line that runs along side it ?

You could try Googling "pipe repair clamp" as a temp solution, that might work. But to do it right you will need to solder it. That means removing the lines so you can drain out the oil.
Do a search for soldering, here is one: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/281862-brazing-oil-lines-yes-again.html

You're going to have to take the lines out to repair the one.
I'd probably just replace it, and if the other one is iffy, then replace both. That way you're not having to mess with the oil lines for a long time.
