Default PMO Gauge not responding to adjustment.

Hi All, I have a 2.5 S build in my 73 with PMO's from 2011 not sure what size. Recently re jetted and tuned from Richards specks at PMO and they ran great showing 3.5lbs of pressure to the carbs. Now a few months later the gauge is bouncing from 6 to 12 lbs. When I adjust the fuel pressure regulator in or out it doesn't do much to the gauge and it's inconsistent. I've replaced the gauge and the bouncing stopped but still shows 6 to 12 no matter what I do.
I'm new to this so please forgive the lack of details.
Someone said something could be in the fuel line
or I should change the fuel pump.
Thank you for any thoughts or ideas.
Joe

I spoke to Richard from PMO today and he suggested I check the line coming and going from the tank for any blockage.
He seems like a very cool guy.
The fuel lines are about 10 years old and I don't know the history of the tank so I decided to make this a little project of cleaning and replacing.

replace them ALL with Ethanol rated rubber for the correct psi right away

include the 2 under the F. suspension plate inlet/outlet to tank
