Default Installing Race Seats

Hi everyone,

My car ('92 C2) is becoming enough of a track car, and I'm getting fast enough that it's getting hard to stay in the seat coming around some high speed turns. So, I recently ordered a racing seat. I'd sat in several different seats and decided on a MOMO because they felt the most secure to me. I ordered a Momo Acropolis Evo seat, which is supposed to be a little bigger, but I'm hoping it won't be by too much.

My problem is that I'm having trouble figuring out how to mount the seat. When I ordered it, I was told that it couldn't be installed using a slider of any kind, and that it could only be used with side bracket mounts. At first this didn't seem like a big deal, since the seat would pretty much only be installed around track dates. But then I realized nobody else could drive my car unless they were exactly my height, or wanted to reinstall the seat. I'm having a hard time believe someone could design a seat this way, and I also can't figure out how to mount the darn thing without having to drill into the floor of the car.
It seems like the side mounts only allow you to install the seat in one position which is wherever you can get it to line up with the factory holes. I've got to be missing something... if anyone who has installed track seats could show me the light I'd really appreciate it, and if anyone has installed this particular seat and knows if it can be made adjustable, and what that entails I'd appreciate that too.

Thanks,
Andrew

I fab'd up some brackets from flat steel from Home Depot. You can swap out the seat in maybe 5 minutes so that shouldnt be a problem swapping out the seat for the street. Not sure this answers your question, but I dont think you'll have any issues.

I've seen side mount setups where the bottom of the brackets were bolted to sliders, and voila! In our 964's, that large tunnel next to the seats can make it challenging if you need to have the seat moved back far.

Have you checked with Brey-Krause to see if they have any side panels that will fit your seats and car? Also, a Recaro dealer can sell you silders that may fit your Momos.

I have a Momo Acropolis Evo seat in my 77 with a slider. I do not have info on the slider but just wanted you to know it can be done. I'd suggest talking to the momo dealers and getting their imput for parts or shops familiar with the installation.
BTW I love the seat and am looking for another used one....
