There's a guy posting on Pelican who inspected the car in person. He's saying the engine is too burned and warped to be reused. Only way to keep it numbers mstching would be Porsche do it in house, and even then it wouldn't be original, just stamped by the factory on a replacement case.

Looks like you'd be buying a VIN and maybe a front clip. The rest is junk (including probably the frame and all other metal that got heated). Too little survives to preserve "originality", and a restoration would almost certainly wind up underwater on resale. Somebody obviously came to the same conclusion after going to considerable effort to strip the car down.
