Might be a cheaper way to get HP than bore and stroke on a 928 motor...

no, no, you are right about that for sure! But probably not the $30k+ that it would cost to get a GOOD bore and stroke on a 928 engine though!

But, yea, a Turbo, S/C or Chevy conversion would be cheaper than an M3 V8 for sure!

That depends on how much power you want to make.

If you want one that lasts, you start here:

Friend of mine has a Katech 427 in his ZO6, it wasn't the first motor he dropped in there, but so far it's the only one that has survived track use.

ohhhh... now we're talking, I have a 928 with no engine and an M5 sitting next to it. I wonder if my wife would notice.

I wonder what the transmission in there is? Probably stock with a bellhousing adapter for the front of the TT.

"We've secretly switched out his wife's M5 engine for a Chevy crate motor....."

Sounds like a Folgers commercial

Very cool, but I'd rather have a Vette motor. A German ($$$$) engine transplant seems like double the folly unless you happen to just have one laying around.

Not the most cost effective option, but fun none the less.
