Craziness: Turning a normal 992 into a GT1...
This has been on my mind since I bought a 993 C4S. Or before.
It seems like chopping the top of a normal 993 is not unlike chopping the top of a '49 Mercury. If you line up the pie cuts, re-weld well, a reasonably talented person could do it.
And, although I'm not reasonably talented, I'm actually thinking about doing it. Or having someone do it for me.
I know that the GT1's were mid-engined, and I will keep all normal 993 dimensions and layout, including rear-engine position. So what else do I need to do to a 993 in order to make it look like a GT1? The GT1 is longer, for example.
And I guess I'm targeting the 1996 GT1, which looks most like a street 993.
So I think that this is crazy, but any advice would be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Matt

I see dead people.
Phil
p.s. and yes, you sound a little crazy coming up with crazy ideas like this.
but I definitely want to be there when you take a sawzall to your roof. I'll bring the beer. This is going to be awesome. I'll video the process for a RL DIY chop shop.
This is going to be FUN!!
