Default GT4 Side Scoops on Spyder

Has anyone successfully applied the GT4 style air scoops on their spyder? [[url]https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/PK718SCOOP.html]
Was it a pain to paint/prime/apply or were there any issues with adhesives?

Considering doing this, but maybe it could also look a bit too busy!

If you do it, you may want to cover them with ppf, if heavy paint chipping is a concern.

It can be done, and has been a number of times, not only to Spyders but regular 718's as well, when this is done with factory parts they hold on just as they should without issues. I did a similar move on my 981 Boxster GTS, including the front bumper and rear diffusor, all worked well.

I will not to do it to my Spyder for a couple of reasons, first on a Chalk, white or yellow car the side intakes in black look good IMHO because of the contrast, installing the scoop hides this, but if that is you car pictured above the stripes do this as well so maybe less black on the side would be good. The other con is they are rock catchers, they seem to bounce right on in there and stay.

The only other recommendation I have is to fill the 'GT4', it is tacky to leave this showing on anything but a GT4!

I have done it and reverted back to original... simply because the paint match wasn't 100%.
Most don't see the difference including my wife, but it's all I see! Slight white tint. So I removed them... I will eventually repaint to get a better match.

I like the look actually - how do they attach? And what did you do about the "GT4" imprint?

Looks better with the scoops IMHO, and nice job on filling the "GT4".

I believe @n4v4nod had his painter fill in the "GT4"...

On the 982/718 they are attached via tabs... 3 front, 3 in the back and one at the top. The 981 ones also have adhesive.
The front 3 tabs are what really hold them in. Here is a pic with everything removed:

So it appears pretty easy - pop off the Spyder trim and pop in the GT4 scoop, huh? If so I assume a GT4 owner could do the opposite, right?

I have done it. Filled the GT4 gaps so it is plane. It is very easy to do yourself but you need plastic tools to remove the originals and apply certain strength! imho it looks great.

Pic of yours? I have trim removal tools so it is just a matter of buying the part. I ordered my Yellow Spyder with Black door handles so maybe I will get the scoop painted to match them.
