High oil pressure

High oil pressure
So a short while ago, my oil gauge was reading at the low end of normal and so I topped off with 200cc oil. After doing so, I noticed the oil pressure to read quite high under heavy loads/high rpms, etc. I never let it go into the "red", but that also meant that I haven't been driving my car really hard. The oil gauge did read "max", but I also got the "oil level is correct" message. Now my oil gauge is reading one notch below max, but I am still getting high oil pressure readings with hard driving.
Anyone have any idea why this may be happening?

A friend with a Spyder RS noticed the same thing. Porsches answer to him was that they simply didn't recalibrate the gauge for the GT3 motor.
If you have a base GT4 then this might be a concern. If you have an RS, it's normal.

If the oil is not up to full temp, it'll be thicker and build pressure more quickly.

Almost certainly not an issue. What exact readings (in Bar or PSI) are you seeing on the gauge? When the oil is full operating temp, you should not see over 75psi or so at any rev or load. But in general, high oil pressure is a rare condition and not nearly as dangerous as low oil pressure. The pressure will build with revs, but then flatline. So, don't assume the pressure will continue up as you rev close to redline.

Spouse has a 2024 GT4 RS. I took it into the dealership this morning - it was reading 71 psi just after a cold start, and even after the engine warmed up it was still at 68 psi. Drove it for an hour on the highway on Sunday and it was at 65 psi at 3,800 rpm, 73 mph, 7th gear.
Reading the other comments in the thread, seems like maybe this is normal? But 68 psi at idle?
