Stuck on 1 & 2 lane roads for the first leg of my trip heading home from Cape Cod in traffic. Shockingly good gas mileage considering I experienced 25-30 mins of stop & go traffic. Pretty sure 30 MPG+ is possible on a much cooler day with less traffic. Impressive 2.0L Flat 3 efficiency….PLUS, a ton of will power!!
Pretty good. I have seen about 24-25 mpg on the highway in sixth (manual) at 75 mph. In line with the EPA numbers. On backroads, it is struggle to make it to 20 mpg. Usually it is 17-18 mpg and I am not that aggressive a driver.

Previously, a down and back trip, partly in Sport & Normal modes, resulted in 25.5 MPG. I went barefoot on the throttle & gas pedal this time. 🤣
In my GT4 i was able to get 32 MPG when driving down to Monterey from the SF Bay Area (about 2 hour drive). These are surprisingly efficient when they need to be.

I can believe that. I’m sure there are some little things like turning off the A/C Compressor part of the time that could improve mileage a bit.
I think your numbers depend a lot on if you have auto start-stop and cylinder deactivation on. I keep both off and get around 20 around town and on backroads. Highway would probably see mid 20's. I have yet to turn cylinder deactivation on but if I go on a trip I'd probably turn it on for that instant 50% jump in MPG. Getting 500 miles out of a tank instead of 350 means less stops lol. Makes me wonder how many miles the people in the EU who opt for the 22 gallon tank would get with cylinder deactivation turned on.

Try it and report back, the increase in economy is pretty minimal. I did a test on the highway and the difference between 3 banger mode and 6 banger mode was surprisingly small.

It really depends on your speed. A third of my trip was on a single lane road stuck behind slower moving cars around 50-55 MPH, and as such, it kind of really helped with MPG. Normal mixed driving in Sport Mode, I average between 21-23 MPG, but on this particular ride, conditions just worked out for efficiency. Had the roof up as it was 91 degrees and kept cycling A/C on and off as needed. I also utilized the coast function of the PDK on long downhill stretches. It was just a challenge type of thing to see if I could hit 30 MPG since I was already getting good mileage stuck with nowhere to go on the divided road. The one thing I did notice was that cylinder deactivation was only good to a certain speed, like 62-64 MPH before it struggled to go much faster without disengaging the cylinder deactivation mode.

I found it to be most efficient at about 100 km/h which was the speed limit (but it felt so slow LOL). It sounds horrible, and the throttle feels horrible so I never use it. But even at those speeds, the increase was (obviously) no where near 50%. The cylinder deactivation stops at a certain RPM, that threshold his a bit higher in the GT cars because of the higher redline.
Pretty normal highway mostly highway MPG for my GT4. Funny thing is this is with the front and rear aero in the track positions and cylinder deactivation off.
Wish I would have taken a pic, but just last weekend drove from Seattle to Walla Walla, WA (great wine country BTW), a trip of about 260 miles each way, and includes going over the Cascade Mountain Pass...had cylinder deactivation OFF and just cruised between 70-85 most of the way....MPG was 30.4, which really surprised me. Who says our 4.0's aren't very practical???
That brings up another point, The PDK has 7 gears vs. the manual's 6. 6th on the manual is relatively short, so I wonder how much of the MPG difference is made up from the PDK's 7th gear.

Probably a lot. I haven't done a ton of hwy driving but I don't recall seeing anything above 25 mpg at 75 mph in my manual Boxster 25. Not that I watch the fuel economy regularly. Only the gas gauge which seems to drop off very quickly. I must have a leak in the gas tank.

Same, I haven't done much highway either, but 25 is about what I'd expect. Was your 25 with or without cylinder deactivation? I don't watch the MPG readout either, it's not that great anyway haha. I just calculate it for grins at fillups.

I only drive in sport mode so no cylinder deactivation. Sometimes, I am somewhat deactivated at my age but I don't like it in my car.
