Not sure if this is placeholder or not, but at the bottom of the configurator under Audio and Communication, Smartphone integration lists Android Auto as being supported. I'll be very curious to see if AA is enabled by default now in the US.

I see this as well. It would be really interesting if all of a sudden the latest PCM model offers AA which so many people (myself included) have been wanting for years. I wonder if my 2024 Boxster GTS will come with it or if just needs a software update from the dealership. Honestly i'll be super happy if it does.

That would be cool. I could see updated software being loaded onto new units regardless of MY.

The PCMs going back to 2017 (991.2/718) can have Android Auto loaded. However I'd be shocked if Porsche offers it for any model years, to be added by the dealership, including 2024. I hope I'm wrong!

I hope you are wrong too. Especially since the MY24 PCMs are not yet 3rd party upgradable.

Here is the text from the configurator (taken from the GT4RS):

Connect your smartphone to your Porsche and get some of your apps directly on the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) screen. Both Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ are supported. Voice recognition lets you use apps conveniently while driving, minimizing distractions and allowing you to concentrate fully on the road.

Note: Apple CarPlay requires a compatible iPhone®. The approval of Apple CarPlay in individual countries as well as the approval of apps for Apple CarPlay is controlled exclusively by Apple®.
The approval of Android Auto in individual countries as well as the approval of apps for Android Auto is controlled exclusively by Google®.

The following mobile devices are compatible with the software used in the vehicle can be used without restrictions:
- Apple: iPhone 7 and higher starting iOS 14.1
- Android™ mobile devices with active Google Play services such as Samsung Galaxy S10, Huawei P30, Google Pixel 4, Google Pixel 4XL (Android version 10).

Other devices may be compatible. Users of Android™ devices with Android 9 and lower can download Android Auto from the Google Play Store. For users with devices running Android 10 and above, Android Auto is pre-installed.

Probably worth creating a whole new thread on this subject. And whether or not people are successful and having dealerships add it.

We purchased a 2023 Macan, which was produced during the COVID chip shortage. Which meant it did not have power tilt steering column. From the factory they never installed the comfort settings software, which pushes the seat back when turning off the car. It had 18 Way seats and the ability to move backwards..... So should have had the comfort settings. I inquired with the local dealership like three times with no success. A guy in New Jersey was able to get his dealership to to play around with the settings and had success. Which then resulted in a Porsche TSB..... Will probably take some similar prodding to make it happen.

I am on the waitlist for an BGTS allocation at two dealerships. Got a call from both dealerships today telling me they both received allocations today. Today, was my day. I just received the email from Porsche with tracking information on my build. I have a commission number. 😊

Anybody have a confirmed 2025 GT4RS allocation yet? I pinged several dealerships but they all said they don't have any yet.

I would safely assume that since the configurator does show updated pricing for the 4RS that it would soldier on for MY2025 with the SRS
Allocations may not come out at the same time for the 4RS vs the SRS, but they are coming

I meant at the factory, the new firmware getting loaded onto new head units, not necessarily at dealers. Like you said though it would be great if a TSB resulted from it.
