Crazy people
This is all a direct result of America falling to pieces. I’ve been driving since 1986, and I have never seen such levels of road rage and general dangerous driving. It all started after COVID, and we are all literally paying for it now.

Burning Brakes
Good summary, albeit from an insurance industry group...
https://www.iii.org/sites/default/fi...s_09282022.pdf
"The factors driving negative auto insurer economic performance include:
• Rising insurer losses due to increasing accident frequency and severity;
• More fatalities and injuries on the road, leading to increased attorney involvement in claims;
• Continuing supply-chain issues, leading to rising costs for autos, auto replacement parts, and labor; and
• More costly auto repairs due to safer, more technologically sophisticated vehicles"
Related to that last bullet point - Let's not overlook that new car prices are up about 50% in the US over the past 10 years, dramatically outpacing US inflation and having an outsized influence on the US Consumer Price Index..

I'm assuming that most who drive a Porsche can afford the insurance increases, but I expect there will be a surge of uninsured motorist who can't.

High Credit Score = Low Insurance Premium
Ceteris paribus, your credit score is critical factor to determine your insurance premium.
High credit score doesn't mean you earn a lot a money, it means you are responsible with your money and thus more likely to be be a responsible driver.

Some factors used to calculate rates
Where you live
Age of the driver(s)
Accidents, traffic violations etc.
Number of cars
Car symbols(the higher the symbol the more expensive car is to insure)
Milles drive annually
Package deals(home umbrella with same co. etc.)
There is more but I'm not going in to details.

If you are fortunate to be in one of the 5-6 states where Porsche Auto Insurance writes, you should try them.
They saved me multi-thousands off a mainline insurance across 6 cars. You can also add non-Porsche vehicles.
And they do agreed upon values. Again, at a reasonable rate.

The primary cost driver for car insurance isn't the car/property claims. It's medical policy claims. IMO, medical and car/property need to be separated. There are far too many fraudulent medical claims that go to court and win big money. Since the pandemic medical claim fraud has been rampant.

That’s unfortunate.

One thing I will say to everyone across the nation - Please make sure you have OEM coverage on your Porsche (and all your other expensive vehicles). You do not want to be in a scenario where your insurance company pays you for aftermarket parts only!

Just a quick quote for Porsche Ins for FL $135k value 6000 miles a year clean driving record was ~$2400 a year plus .26 per mile 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I don't think I will be changing my insurance anytime soon.

Just adding my experience here, have a GT4RS insured by Hagerty and rate is about $428/month in NorCal. I also got a quote for about $226 a month with State Farm (they cover the daily driver) for the same coverage. The main difference between State Farm and Hagerty (quite frankly the only one that matters to me at least) is that Hagerty offers guaranteed value in the event of a total loss. The State Farm agent said we go off MSRP and we factor in depreciation too. Hagerty uses a guaranteed value model and that value can include ADM if you paid it.
