Titanium center muffler options
I’ve read here and there about putting a titanium center muffler on a 718 for weight loss. On the 991 based cars you could source the titanium muffler from the GT3RS.
I see lots of exhaust mods from different vendors for the 4rs/SRS, but I don’t see a titanium muffler in their products or at suncoast.
Who here has put a titanium center muffler on a GT4RS/Spyder RS, where did you source it, cost, and weight savings ?

I could be wrong but i thought that the GT4RS had a titanium muffler? Unless it was just the tips? I do know that its the tips but i assumed the rest of the muffler was like that as well. I'm pretty sure there are some companies that make titanium exhausts for these cars.

Drifting, how is it possible that with your 1000s of posts and threads, and I’m sure hours of research, that you never learned that Akrapovic and JCR makes exhausts in titanium? They are two of the more popular options here and offer solutions for the RS cars.
Their respective websites can tell you more. There are also sponsors on RL like SupremePower that can help you source Akrapovic components if you want. For JCR, just hit up Jonny on IG or FB—he’s really responsive and great to work with.

Yes, I’m aware. My comment was in response to the comment above about the muffler potentially being in Ti…it is not, but the tips (WP) are.
The OP question is in regards to the muffler—so my comment was focused on clarifying that the RS muffler is indeed, NOT in titanium.

The only Ti component on the Weissach exhaust is the Tips which are $$$$. Ninemeister Weissach Tips are also Titanium but a lot more economical.
In terms of common Titanium X Pipes, there is JCR. Then there are other Inconel options like Kline.

I will have a WP Spyder RS. So tips already are titanium. But I'd like to lighten up the muffler. I'm trying to be as light as possible.
I'm open to Titanium or other options, Inconel, etc.

Pretty much any aftermarket system will be lighter than OEM, even offerings in SS. The key on the 718 platform is choosing an XPIPE design. I dont care if the back box is 1lb, or 60lbs… if it doesn’t have an XPIPE design it’s not going to provide a nice tone (pitch likeness is subjective). I believe this would rule out AKRA.. though Im not sure if they revamped their design for the 718 RS models.
