Question GT4RS Magnetic paddle shifters

Ordered a new gt4rs a few weeks ago and I was wondering if the car has similar magnetic paddle shifters like the gt3rs? I couldn't really find info about it but I would suspect it does? And if not, what would be good aftermarket solutions?

No, the GT4 RS does not have magnetic paddles like the 992 GT3 RS w/ WP.

The madtrace magnetic paddles from JQWerks are awesome. They have the same magnetic actuation and look and work great. I’ve installed a bunch of these and they are super plug-and-play.

They come with kind of a raw finish CF, or a 992 GT3 RS -style aluminum paddle design as an option.

Aw that sucks I have had magnetic paddle shifters installed in some of other cars so it feels off driving without them😄I will certainly consider the aftermarket option

I have the JQWerks paddle shifters on my 4RS. It's my favorite mod and they look OEM.

The ones from the GT3RS fit iaw the GT3 forum sponsor. You just have to stomach the PAG luxury tax.

Really? That would be great. I was under the impression the 992 ones won't work.

I don't think the 992 ones work on our 718.

These are the 992 ones: https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/sku992rswpa.html

I ended up getting the JQ magnetic ones with the 3RS paddles mentioned above and they're fully plug and play.

I have the JQWerks ones on my 3RS, great change and they provide a very affirmative "click"

Am I in the minority in that I really didn't like the sound of the click?

Me neither. It's a bit too noisy. But the tactical feel is far more important. Stock feels like video game controllers. It's like mechanical keyboard. I hate the noise but love the feel.

I love it on the track but agree that around town it's a bit too much. I prefer to use the shifter more anyway though so it's not a big deal for me.

I mostly use the shifter so maybe that's why I don't care. I'd rather avoid the noise.

Funny, the aluminum ones are more than the CF.

I noticed that and it's significantly more expensive

I think $150 is quite reasonable...cheap even for an alternative design. It's the same price as an add on or selected from the paddle product page.

For those that are on the fence, just buy the standard $479 (a great price for magnetic shift paddles) that come with the CF paddle design. Then purchase the GT3 RS aluminum style paddles separately for $150 whenever you want.

The way the shift mechanism is designed, it's easy to swap between the two paddle styles whenever you want without needing to uninstall/reinstall the paddles entirely—it's just two Allen bolts for each paddle, and there's plenty of clearance to access especially when rotating the steering wheel 90 degrees for each side.
