Flywheel weight questions
I did a search and couldn't find this answer: I'm wondering if my GTS4.0 flywheel is lighter than my 992 911T. The 4.0 NA engine seems to rev down quicker than the 3.0tt engine. I guess that could also be programming, but it feels like the 911's engine just revs down slower than the 4.0 engine, not that it's rev-hanging.
I did find this info about the CGTS flywheel:
https://media.porsche.com/mediakit/7...d-transmission
At the bottom of the page it says:
I can't find anything on the 911 flywheel.

Six-speed manual transmission with dual-mass flywheel as standard
The manual six-speed transmission transmits the power of the six-cylinder naturally aspirated engine to the rear wheels. The dynamic throttle blip function improves vehicle stability during downshifts and reduces wear. Powertrain movements that can affect driving dynamics are damped by the dynamic PADM (Porsche Active Drive Mounts) transmission mounts, which minimise the vibrations transmitted. The 718 GTS 4.0 models use the dual-mass flywheel from the 911 GT3.I can't find anything on the 911 flywheel.

I've always been very curious about Flywheel mods for our cars, it doesn't seem that discussed of a topic.
The difference between a 997-3 with a LWFW and without is astonishing.
Also I've heard that we share the same flywheel as the 991.2 or 992.1 GT3? Which one is that and is it accurate? Since they use the same transmission as the 911R, can we use the 911R LWFW in our cars?

Here's a comparison I did of my two cars. The gap between 1st and 2nd gear, including rear gears, is the same. I feel that the 911 engine revs down shower than the Cayman 4.0.

if you swap from a dual mass to L/W the engine will rev up/down faster, the ECU must be able to detect this and adjust accordingly (otherwise stalls can occur) this I believe on other models
was achieved via a sensor that could detect which flywheel was installed ... YMMV
AFIAK it was not recommended to install the R flywheel on the 991.2 GT3 ... for a variety of reasons...
my point is this is not a plug n' play option ... not too mention the cost of installation...
