I cannot remember the mileage when I last checked the oil level in my 4RS but I guess it was about 500 miles. At that time it was well within acceptable range.

Was under impression that 2022 and later owners manuals have 0W40 requirement

Which is why I am glad I have a 2021 GT4. Also tin hat on but by allowing only C40 0w40 for 2022+ which only Mobile 1 makes right now Porsche is insuring its partner is the only supplier. TBS I would have no qualms about putting 5w40 C40 in a 2022+ unless I lived in the great North.

I have a 2023 GT4RS and the OM allows 0W-40 or 5W-40 with either Porsche C40 or VW 51100 approvals. The 0W-40 is for all temps and the 5W-40 is for ranges above -13 F/ -25 C.

My oil is showing half way on the electronic dip stick. About 680mi. I didn’t check the level before. I did pick up the C40 oil at the dealer for top off.

Default New GT4 RS full quart of oil required with less than 400 miles

Left the house this morning with about 300 miles on my GT4 RS. At roughly 370 miles I got a low oil level warning. Had to go about another 30 miles before I was able to stop and get some synthetic oil. Added a full quart and the electronic oil gauge now reads full. I'm. a bit blown away that a brand new Porsche would need a full quart of oil at only 300 - 400 miles. Seems crazy. I've noted that a number of people seem to feel that the factory didn't fully fill the car with oil when it left the factory but I would have thought that my dealer would have checked this prior to delivery. Out of curiosity, would it be considered normal for one of these engines to go through a full quart of oil when car has under 500 miles?

Optimal oil level is 3/4 on the gauge (see the manual), so it probably left the factory at that point and so you technically overfilled it a bit by adding a quart.

Oil usage should decrease after break-in, but these motors still use a little.

I’m at 900 miles now, and oil measurement still seems normal. But I’m prepared with a quart for the alert to come up any moment!

Mine arrived from factory/ dealer with only 30% on electronic gauge (bottom right stalk, push away, scroll to oil level and get a reading) . I am now at 20% after 600kms. Waiting for oil to come from the UK as cannot get the C40 oil in 0w-40 in Australia except in 5 litre containers as a special order.
Hope your top up using synthetic oil was a C40 oil...otherwise can play havoc with petrol particulate filters!
Top up from '0' to 100% is 0.8 of a litre/quart of oil, according to manual, and as GT4RS is best at 75% then half a litre/quart is about correct amount.

Just be sure if and when the low oil warning comes on not to add a full quart. 26 or 27 oz. (0.8 qt) would be the max to add or you will be overfilled and that is not good. As @johnrichard points out 1/2 to 3/4 between min. and max. is just about ideal. Adding 0.8 qt when the warning comes on, as per the OM, will show it at the max. mark. I went to Watkins Glen this weekend and put about 600 miles on the 4RS (now about 1600 total miles) and it still reads at max. Hope this helps.

As stated mine arrived ex factory low on oil, now showing 'correct oil level' at 20%.

After 650kms. A bit below where the level was ex factory.

At 14 mi my 4 RS was reading a 3/4 full oil level. At 2000 mi, just before an oil change
at Manthey, my oil level reading was 2/4 full. Manthey filled to 3/4, as per recommendation. Now at 4050 mi my oil level is 2/4. Each quarter unit on display should correspond to ~200 mL.

So, I can happily report a (negligible) ~0.2 L / 2000 mi oil burn. She's healthy and she rips

Not an oil use post, but still kinda on topic. Got my 1st oil change yesterday at Porsche dealer...$496.00 WTF!!!
Not my 1st Pcar, it's the 4th one, so used to the maintenance costs, but this is F'ing outrageous!
It is my 1st RS, so if this is normal for an RS just say so and I'll stop the rant.
If i got ripped off, gonna out the dealer on Google review and Porsche satisfaction survey.
