Default Changing tire sizes

Hi all!
changing tires from 2022 Spyder Michelin cup 2 to Michelin pilot sport 4S
Would there be a reason to go from 295s in rear to 305s? Looks? Any issues?
thanks As always!

Understeer would be reinforced by going to a larger rear tire. Depending on how much your car has been lowered and/or camber they may not fit.

corrected from oversteer to understeer and provided additional details after rereading the question

As was mentioned it depends... With an all-stock suspension with stock wheels and offsets you should be able to go to 305's, a few Spyder's owners have done this.

i have changed to 305 in the rear. I can confirm it works.....leaving it very very close to scratching the coilover.
Ps: 305 michelin cup 2.

Wouldn't this change the driving dynamics if you dont increase the fronts by 10MM as well?

Remember it really depends on the wheel and tire combination, change the brand of either and everything changes...

So below with the OEM wheels and 295 (section width) Dunlop Race 2's as compared to 305 (section width) Bridgestone RE980AS... I would say that the 295 looks as big or bigger that the 305

Dunlop Maxx Race 2 295/30ZR20

Bridgestone RE980AS 305/30ZR20

My OE 295 CUP2s measured 300mm section width. 305 Nankang AR1 measured 305mm section width. If you going to a true 305 rear, it isn't a big difference.

But it is not only the section width but the tread width and sidewall profile as well, look at the pictures above, both tires are listed as 295 but even when mounted on the same wheel present a different profile. The RE980AS tucks in substantially as the sidewall approaches the tread surface, the Race 2 is almost vertical.

If the clearance is tight, you could have rubbing. I studied a number of pictures before moving up to the 305 in the RE980AS, I knew that its profile was actually less than the 295 Race 2 and therefore safe for clearance. In this case my goal was to get close to the OEM supplied Race 2 but not to exceed it.

If you're mainly driving on the street I really doubt you'll feel a difference.
