Default Monroney Sticker: To Laminate or Not Laminate

Interested in the collective wisdom on this topic. I want to preserve the Monroney Sticker from my GT4 and I'm torn on which path I should take. My initial thought was to laminate the Monroney Sticker and stow it away for safekeeping. Then I thought to make a high-quality copy of the original, laminate the copy, and place the original in a plastic sleeve and store it where I keep my other important documents. Does laminating the original take away from the "value" of not having the original document as it came with the car? Perhaps there's no right answer to this but would be interested in what others have done or if there's a rule of thumb I should follow.

I think you might be overthinking this one…

Agreed. Overthinking. Either you have one or you don't. Your thought seems to be on protection, in which case a proper lamination trumps a plastic sleeve if you have flood or high humidity concerns. I'd scan it for prooof/future for sale adds as well.

Roll it up and place it into a carboard tube. Throw a couple desiccant packs inside and cap it shut. Label it on the outside with a marker. Store it someplace safe. Done.

Temperature and humidity controlled vault, with uv protection, like the constitution.

I don’t think you need to laminate.

I personally won’t roll it up. It will never be flat again.

Just put it with other documents.

You know you can download a PDF of the Monroney label from the My Porsche site.... download, print, laminate or frame as many copies as you want.

He's in a wizard movie every year; he can just use magic to get it if he really wants

I've always received mine already laminated when I've bought the car. It's a pain because it's an odd size that doesn't fit in a notebook or file folder. So while it's well preserved I can't file it away. A tube, as someone suggested, would preserve the original document but would also be difficult to file away. I'd probably go with a plastic sleeve or just stick it in a file folder.

That is the way it came from the factory.
