What does it take to convert to PCCB from iron rotors?

Is there any downside to putting the spacer in vs getting a whole new set of calipers?

‘Swapped over PCCBs on my wife’s 718 Spyder this weekend. Aside from PCCB Calipers (iron calipers won’t fit without a spacer) and rotors, you also need:
Caliper Bolts (one time use):
Front: WHT-008-186 - Qty: 4
Rear: 9A7-007-585-00 - Qty: 4
Hard Brake Lines:
Front Left: 991-355-581-81
Front Right: 991-355-582-81
(Thanks @jbatchelor for the p/no’s)
Coding the car for PCCBs via PIWIS III (some say it’s optional; you be the judge)

- Select PSM module > Next (F12)
- Select Coding / Programming (7) in the top menu > Next (F12)
- Select Manual Coding > Next (F12)
- [Select your vehicle model] > Next (F12)
- “BRAKE SYSTEMS” change the drop down menu to “450 - CERAMIC - BRAKE (PCCB) > Next (F12)
Good morning! I’m about to install the same kit on my 2023 718 Spyder. I have a couple of questions for you:
my kit included:
SHORT BOLTS
LONG BOLTS
THICK SPACERS
THIN SPACERS
4 factory hard brake lines
Do you remember what goes where? I can’t believe there are no included instructions for installation. Thanks for your help!

There shouldn’t be any spacers unless you are trying to adapt iron rotor calipers or calipers from another model. The correct PCCB calipers bolt directly to the wheel hub. Bolts for the front calipers will be a different length than the rear. Swap them like for like.

I may have misunderstood your post as I thought you were going from iron rotors to larger carbon ceramic brakes.
I have iron rotors (red calipers) and upgrading to ST surface Transforms kit so I do need spacers, different bolts and some new brake lines.
Just looking for guidance on the bolt length and spacers (which goes where). If your installation was not iron rotors to carbon ceramic rotors, then my question won’t apply.

I installed a factory PCCBs, Calipers and associated hardware. For many of us, PCCBs weren’t available at order time on the Spyders necessitating we source the components after delivery and install them.
I’d reach out to the vendor who sold you the ST setup and get instructions from them.

the front rotors are 408 vs 410 on PCCB’s: that’s only a difference of 1mm (radius) so no spacer needed.
on rare axel needed a 5mm spacer since the rotor diameter went to 390 from 380mm iirc.
the new caliper bolt was 90mm iirc (originally 85mm)
Don’t forget to get Ceramic pads!
Will do the PIWIS update as soon as winter is over.
no brake line change needed btw.

Very helpful info contained in this thread!! I was able to convert my irons to PCCBs on my 2021 spyder. I used take off PCCBs from a 981 gt4. Kept my red calipers and used caliper spacers and bolts sourced from Hinz Motorsports as well as Pagid RSC1 pads. Everything was smooth thanks to info in this thread.

Still waiting for a bolt-on Surface Transform CCB kit for the Boxster GTS. It is rather odd that they have not released one yet.
