That sounded different and has a higher pitch than a regular GT4 with your competion OAP. Am I imagining things 🤣

I think this is logical since the comp OAP removed the CAT and the GPF.

Man I wish we had that gearing on the GT4!! That was quieter than I expected, but that's completely fine by me.

That sounded really nice with just OAP......how about a video adding headers to the mix?

The thing that really impressed me from day 1 is the gearing...coming from the 718 GT4 PDK the RS has perfect gear ratios.

Sounds great! Any drone with the OAPs only with the valves open?

Our media library for this car is not quite what we (and everyone else) were hoping for The timeline of development and the customer (understandably!) wanting the car back didn't provide much time for all the product combinations we'll have. Plus, I was in Daytona for the Rolex 24 while some development was going on, then John G. just went down for Sebring's PCA race... so a lot happening, and we just wanted to get through development and get products ready to go since people have been asking for quite a while!

John did all the development driving with the car and can certainly do his best as always to provide good expectations for the sound. But we want some good videos too just like everyone else! When that opportunity comes, we will share it all!

John

Sound is hard to assess without a stock side by side comparison.

The real questions with this " stage 1 " option... how much HP does it free up and how much weight does it save? Seems like a good first step.

Thanks for supporting us .

Cheers

Hey Guys!

Apologies for the late reply, just catching up from the 48hrs of Sebring now. What an event! I go every year, it's the largest PCA club race in North America and they run advanced DE between the races as well so it's fun for everyone. I have a bunch of video clips and photos from the event, but I won't clog up the R&D thread with it haha.

Quick Update before moving onto your individual questions: Our Competition Headers, Street Header Package, Resonated Over Axle Pipes, Competition (Non Resonated) Over Axle Pipes, Sport Cat Over Axle Pipes and Race Exhaust (Non Valved Muffler Replacement) are all done, fixtured, and priced out for production. If anyone wants to be an early adopter give me a ring at 4848836197 or shoot me an email at johng@soulpp.com and we can go into the nitty gritty of the setups together as Jon Wheel does his best to get these listed up on our website in a timely manner. Our Valved Exhaust System to replace the factory muffler is still in development, the prototype about ready to test fit and drive. Our second R&D car is due to land at the Baltimore port tomorrow, and we look forward to getting it in house ASAP to round out the Valved Exhaust System and also dedicate the time to get Much more video of our various product combinations. When everything is said and done, I will be making a video explanation comparing all the combinations to the best of my ability to give you the education you need to decide on the best product or combination of products to meet your individual goals. Our GT4RS is supposed to be built in April and delivered in May, fingers crossed no complications and we'll get more and more video and seat time from there.

You're not imagining things, it definitely does seem to be and that mostly has to do with the engine itself and the rpms it's getting to. That said, tubing diameters are different in the OAPs compared to the standard GT4 so that has an effect as well.

Remember the exhaust valves with standard PSE operation don't open until 4-5k in the first couple gears, so by the time you hear it in the video it's a ways off haha.

That'll be coming soon, we'll be calling that our Street Header Package and it absolutely RIPS at WOT with valves open. One of our favorite setups so far, complete Jekyll and Hyde with the stock muffler in play haha. The gearing/programming is Phenomenal, perfect for this car and I wish it was this good in every PDK equipped car.

Very little and I'd say negligible drone when the factory PSE programming opens the valves. Even stock with the PSE valves unplugged in the sub 2600rpm range the car has some drone due to how short the valves open flow path is through that muffler. On the standard GT4 we found resonated OAPs with PSE muffler open all the time has less drone at low RPMs than a factory OAPs or high flow catted OAPs. This seems to be the case on the 4RS but we want to drive it some more to be sure as there is a lot more intake/engine sound in cabin blending with the exhaust notes.

I'll make a point to do some comparisons when I have two in here at the same time, which should hopefully be soon haha. We'll have weights compared and listed on the website soon, and as I get them I'll post them in the thread as well. We are arranging for independent testing of performance improvements from third parties, including Dragy data which we are starting to like very much

John Gaydos

The local officers haven’t been so friendly for our typical video recordings, so we’ve been trying new things for marketing footage. Unfortunately all the high rpm pulls I did on the highway had so much wind noise I might as well have been inside a Tornado lol. We should be starting a full range of videos across our product line the week of 2/27 and we have some new plans, you’ll hear it rip up top soon enough

After a few weeks evaluating the factory exhaust system then testing and developing products, we've put some of what we've learned and accomplished into this blog post. When our next car arrives and the second round of development begins, we will start an aggressive campaign for content so that everyone can hear what we've come up with! For now, read on and we've included links to the products that are now available. As always, feel free to reach out with any questions!
