Default Auto Carriers - Atlanta Experience Center

For those of you who've picked up your vehicles from an US Experience Center, what shipping carriers have you used?
Porsche's recommended carrier was International Freight Forwarders, Inc.. The convenience would have been nice because the drop off is only 1 mile from the Atlanta Experience center and I would not need to coordinate meeting a truck in a parking lot etc... Their estimate was $3400 which was higher than I was expecting.
I got an estimate from Reliable Carriers ($2240) and an estimate from Easy Auto Ship ($1430) as well - I've used both with pretty good experiences... however it could be tricky coordinating a pick up with those as the Porsche Experience Center will not allow those trucks on their property or coordinate delivery with them... it would be on me and I'd have to figure out how to potentially kill a few days while waiting.

So - curious if any of you used a 3rd partying trucking company - and how you went about coordinating pick up.

Shameless application of the Porsche tax.

There is a hotel across the street from the Atlanta PEC that is pretty nice. You can have it picked up there when you are staying there. I think I got a discount because we picked up our CGTS at the PEC. Picking up the car at the PEC was the best option on the option list. I waxed the car in the hotel parking lot and drove it to So. Fla. the next day

After PEC delivery you’re supposed to drive it home via any number of bucket list roads on the way home.

If you’re not, why bother with PEC delivery? Just fly down to Atlanta, throw however many bucks you want at the offered experiences, fly back and pick up your 718 at your local dealer to which PCNA will have shipped your 718 on their dime.

This.

You're not even really getting a discount on the PEC experience by doing the delivery there.

For clarification (not that it should matter).
I bought the car from a dealer in So Cal. It's 2000 miles from me. I don't feel like doing a 30 hour cross country drive.
The Atlanta Experience center is quite a bit closer 1100 miles from me. It would also be more fun to pick it up there and do the experience and it's a drive I'd not mind doing (still long but not terrible). BUT - the time of year I'm projected to take delivery is sketchy where I live with snow (April) - So if that's the case, I will ship it... hence planning ahead.

I've had Porsche dealer in MA deal with shipping to Chicago area $1400 - enclosed trailer.
Audi dealer in PA in April this year $1100 - enclosed trailer.
VW dealer CO in 2019 $750 - open transport through Montway transport

reach out to a local dealership and see if they would be willing to setup shipping as well as pickup from them. Obviously on your dime. However this can ensure that your car will be at a place where they will treat your car with care and you dont necessarily need to be home if the truck happens to arrive. I'm doing LA PEC but its only about 300 miles from my house so i'm just making the drive home

There's also a huge "parking" lot next to the PEC. It's basically just a giant lot that no one uses. They don't let trucks on their property for liability reasons but you should be able to use that lot no problem.

Thanks all.
Some great ideas. I'm more interested in the actual carriers some of you used. I'll call a couple local dealers and see if they would mind hosting a pick up. I don't mind driving the car somewhere to drop it off. A Porsche dealership is a great idea especially if the pick up date ends up being several days after I take delivery. Ideal would be to schedule the pick up the day after... but as such things never quite work out so well.

I went with IFF. PEC Atlanta was extremely accommodating of the delay in the arrival of the transport and kept the car in their garage until they could get a truck there.

I’m not sure if it would be the same with other carriers. Getting a car shipped is always unpredictable, so it helps to have some good will.

IFF now has a facility where you can drop the car off after taking delivery in Atlanta. They said it's 1 mile from the PEC. So that would be the most convenient... I'll see if I can work on the rate with them... there's usually some flexibility.

They’re expanding the PECATL track facilities and that circled area has probably been regraded.

I used IFF as well PEC was great at helping coordinate pickup from their garage. IFF transported my car from Atlanta to Houston in two days with a F350 dually and enclosed trailer. I was the only car in the trailer with no other stops. The price was higher but waiting on Reliable Etc and the additional stops was worth it for me to go with IFF.

^^ Thanks for that. convenience sometimes is worth a bit of a premium. The price between them and Reliable isn't terribly far apart.
