DSC Sport Controller - interchangeability?

Clarify it does! Thanks...
A remaining question...
Some members above suggested that a Gen 1 (01-9911-00-v3) might be hardware upgradable at TPC to Gen 2 ( 01-9912-00-v3) for a nominal fee. Is this possible? I have a DSC Gen 1 in my current 991.1 Turbo S and might migrate it over if it could be upgraded for significantly less then the cost of a new Gen 2. I've never heard this before, likely wishful thinking, but worth asking...

As an avid consumer myself for motorsports products, the way I approach switching to a different generation car is to the good condition take-off part to someone with that generation car(for example at approx 80% of the new part cost) and then applied the money towards a new part that is designed for the newer generation car. With the cost of the had been conversion fee being almost equal I would want a new part instead. This is the approach I take when buying the newest parts for my cars and motorbikes. My personal experience has been that good condition take off parts have value, and there's almost always a buyer in the second hand market seeking this value. This is just my personal approach and personal experience on upgrading vehicles and parts. There are of course other approaches, preferences, and situations that calls for different methods.

Have not tested on GT4RS first hand. Our shop car's delivery date has been postponed to April. We did have 2 local customers with GT4RS's but both sold theirs for profit before having a chance to work on them. I did take a pic of the stock controller, see below.
Did a quick google search on the part number and came up with the following results. I don't know how accurate this source is but looks very positive so far.

Are the calibration files gone from the website? I have a 4RS and want to use my existing DSC controller but download the 4RS map.

I'd email TPC—they've been really responsive any time I've reached out: info@dscsport.com

Pretty ridiculous how they keep scaling back what they actually offer customers, they have some form in that regard. I wouldn't pay that out of principle, also it's very unlikely there's a significant difference in the 4RS map given that we got one DSC map that covered pretty much any 911/Cayman including the 3RS before. You can search/wait for someone to order an actual 4RS controller and ask them to share the map as well.

I have the 4 RS file and it's awesome. Mike and company bought a car, took time to create the file and now I'm benefitting from their hard work.
I highly recommend buying it. And no I won't be sharing the file.
Support your local vendors or be without cool parts like this. Pretty simple

I was fortunate to have my name on several patents during my career. I found it both amusing and irritating when another company/person tried to circumvent our intellectual property.

This is like claiming alignment settings are IP. You can't copyright it and these settings have been made available for free for years and years. This isn't piracy.

So if you made a living doing this you’d gladly give it away. More gruel please😩
